1) Damar died and this is a clone/body double. Utterly cracked individuals. Beyond hope.
2) Damar's more injured than they're letting on. There's no reason other than healing that he can't return. It's like recovering from a car accident.
3) it was the vaccine! Serious morons, won't be convinced otherwise.
