I have mini splits, installed in late 2019. in 2019 I spent $1222 on propane and oil combined. In 2020/2021, I spent an average of $350 on propane.

this means that if my electric bill increase for winter was less than $872 during heating season, my mini splits are cheaper than oil and propane.
it's hard to give you an exact number but I think my electric bill increase was about $450 the first year.
new electric heat is cheaper.
(note that I use tiller and have data to back all of this up.)
