Also, if you have a chance to beat Giovanni but haven't, do it now.

Currently has Mewtwo(unless it's already Feb for you). Shadow Mewtwo is one of the best. Changes to Registeel. Registeel is only useful in pvp and the shadow form is a downgrade.
You do want the grunts for Joltik and Alolan Vulpix. They and/or their evolutions are good for pvp. You can avoid Spoink.
Also a reminder to try and get a shadow Bellsprout from fake Giovannis if you don't have one. In cups where it is relevant shadow Victreebell is very strong.
