Pretty sure the US has this as a rule, or at least all the US airlines follow it: There must be two people in the cockpit of the plane at all times in flight.
So if one of the pilots needs the restroom, a flight attendant goes into the cockpit temporarily so that there are still two people in the cockpit.
Well apparently this was not a rule in Europe. And in 2015 a Germanwings First Officer locked the Captain out of the cockpit and crashed the plane into the Alps.
Following that, Europe instituted a two person cockpit rule...for a year or two. Then they just stopped doing it again.

PilotGPT, write a landing procedure checklist that could be understood by fifth grader. Make sure no passengers or luggage are lost during landing. -- nm

... do they lock the doors in flight in Europe? If not, maybe that would alleviate the heart attack concern -- nm
