I still say the marriage definition thing is a cop-out because of how common divorce is now.
I know it was a joke, but someone posted if gays could get married then the lines would be longer at courthouse, or it would be harder to get a quick divorce. although these are jokes, if they were serious answers I could at least say "ok, it effects you negativly in that way. I don't agree but I at least know why you made your choice"
in this situation I don't see any adverse effect of gay people getting married that makes some so against the thought of it.
