In response to "some of you treat this place like you're own little sandbox..." by Mel Profit

I've been online for a long time, and I've been a part of my share of online communities, and ST remains one of the most solid I ever lived.

Granted, it's more than a bit bewildering to come into ST and stumble into a 3-board feud over what appears to be a petty issue. I hate running into that stuff. I hate having to go back, board after board, trying to read a conversation backwards and understand what caused all the chaos, until I get to the nugget at the end and it's like "That's it?!" It really feels like being a parent to two squabbling children who, on a different day, would have not said a word or even blinked at a remark which, on this day, caused the world to explode. But, frankly, the fact that we survive it, time and time again, is proof. This is family. An utterly dysfunctional, often angry, family. We see it more only because there are less of us here. The frequency is just as common as it was in the past.
