I find that argument to be weak sauce since I actually was around back then. I remember how much stuff people used to pitch out their windows driving

down the road.

In fact, one time there was a clean up campaign of road side litter here and a woman got hit by a bottle of urine pitched out by a trucker.

Sure, the allegations about corporate sponsorship and the bottle bills might be true but there really needed to be an anti-littering campaign at the same time.
