Landlord is kind of being a jerk about moving out early. I knew there would be a problem.

The way the lease is written we are responsible for rent and utilities until they find a new renter. Okay, that's cool, we know that up front. Also knew we had to get the carpet cleaned when we moved out.
If we want to break the lease early we are still responsible for all of that. PLUS we have to have the place cleaned by a specific cleaning service (kick back I'm sure), and pay $150 fee for the attorney to certify the new agreement. Plus $150 pay an agent fee to a new tenant. Plus pay 1/2 month's rent at the price the new tenant's lease. So we are looking at close to 1,800-2000 in fees.
Like really? I get paying the rent and utilities. But I would think the landlord would be happy we are moving out so he can get a new tenant in sooner and charge them more rent. He will likely be able to go up probably $400/mo on rent.
