It's one thing to list the range but just as important is the fact charge speed. Range and charge rate are in a balancing act. You can make the battery huge but it takes you forever to charge on a road trip (home charging, wgaf when you can charge overnight). 50kWh is a pretty small battery but justified by it being a small car. At a 50kW DC rate, that means you go from 20 to 80% in about 36 minutes. At 150kW, that's 12 minutes and you're getting competitive with gassing up. If you need to make your battery huge cause it's a fucking Hummer, then you need 300kW charging to get you back on the road.
