I love that you phrased it as "taken", because my personal opinion is that it's at-best a con job just like cryptocurrency and NFTs. :)

But that's not to say that there can never be an actual use for it. One just needs to understand the limitations of the tool. It's not a panacea. It's an Rollie Egg Tube.
