I'm trying to be open to the changes. I like the ban on the shift for the reason you mentioned, it will bring more hits, more action on the field and

hopefully less of the annoying "three true outcome" games where we only see K's, HRs and walks.
Some of the rules are fine and likely necessary as teams have pushed the limits of the game.
I am a bit of a purist and believe the history of the game and its numbers mean a lot. Though, since steroids the numbers haven't been as meaningful and now with all the changes over the years it's not the same game we grew up watching. It's still baseball and I still love it but you can't really compare today's players and their numbers to decades ago. I know I don't like that but it's probably what's best for the game as it's been losing fans for many years.
