I stopped trying to make sense of air fares long ago. Once I was looking into a Portland flight....

From Omaha to Portland, with a plane change in Minneapolis, it was like $350. So I thought, "Well, I'll go to Minneapolis and fly out of there."
The direct flight from Minneapolis to Portland, the EXACT SAME flight that would've been the second leg of the trip if I'd flown out of Omaha, was over $100 more. Made no sense.
