Mozilla VPN on iOS added the option to filter out malware, ads, and ad trackers. Sounds good, right?

But how can they do that without scanning the encrypted content?
If it's happening in the cloud, at the Mullvad firewall level, that might mean the company can see what you're browsing. If it's happening locally, in the app's user land code, I'd be a bit less worried - but also a bit concerned about slowness.
If it's just domain-level blocking, then I don't see an issue. But those other concerns are an issue.
(It's optional, at least)
