Yup, but the lower ticket prices for kids probably counters that overall.

Which is then countered by the fact that each kid or group of kids has to have a parent with them.

But all those factors existed previously, and we've only ever had one animated film make $600+ million domestically before. The fact that this is a video game adaptation of an IP whose first try at moviemaking was so horrible that they didn't try again for 30 years shows how amazing this movie's performance is.
