In response to "What did you think of BP live? From youtube it appears they are lipsynching like crazzy -- nm" by rollo

I was sanely far back having seen their tent performance in 2019 and I was fine with whatever they were doing.

Being able to actually see them in 2019 (vs screen or being like 1 inch tall), it seemed like they were performing / singing / rapping live but back then I was pleasantly surprised they had a live band given how super produced their music is.

I hadn't even given it thought this year as to if there was a backing track. Even if I was far back, I was still surrounded by straight up BLINKS and at minimum fans like myself and it was just a whole thing.

There was the just before the start where there was massive guy who looked like he would have been equally at home in two weekends at Stagecoach picking up what I hope was girlfriend and chanting the same BLACKPINK BLACKPINK BLACKPINK that starts their shows to the woman next to us who could name that tune in 1-2 notes and tried her best to hype the rest of our group to FH staring at me with the unspoken question of: Are you trying to sing in Korean, to our light up free LED wristbands that were somehow synced to the lighting

which is a really long way to saying, I took it at face value but I'm also the one who spent the day wearing a T-Shirt that read BLACKPINK Coachella 2023 so there's zero chance that I'm not biased

At the same time, I do have some level of rationality that it could be too perfect. There was a feeling of not quite or perhaps superhuman performance levels in 2019 and I was reminded of it this year that there is something a little scary about just how precise their performances are. It makes senses given their origin and every time I have the thought... there's the immediate follow up of just how willing I would be to follow our BLACKPINK overlords
