DGA doesn't even start their negotiations until mid-May and their deal doesn't expire until end of June. so no real incentive to cut an early WGA deal

WGA may be striking by the time DGA starts but probably will all come down to how quickly/lengthy those negotiations end up being. in the past, DGA usually fucked the WGA by cutting a worse deal but this time the directors claim they're going to play similar hardball. may not be until July that it becomes apparent what's really going down
