Agreed. 80s-90s horror is fine. Jason, Freddy, Aliens, etc. The original Saw was great too.

But lately everything is just amping up the gore/blood/body mutilation to 15 now in the name of horror. I don't need to see some possessed girl licking a knife and splitting her tongue. Sometimes what isn't seen can be much more effective.
