It was not too shabby. It was Rusalka which they billed as the most popular Czech opera ever.

The older couple that sat next to me spoke English with accents. The guy turned to me during the second intermission and told me that this was a treat for he and his wife because they were Czech.
I said "That is great So you're understanding all the words" He said "Mostly, they are doing great for the most part but they occasionally mispronounce some words. But I am very impressed that they sing a language they don't know so well"
I asked him if it was the most popular Czech opera ever like they said in the promo materials. He said "It must be because when they forced me to go to the opera when I was in school 55 years ago, this is the one I had to go to. I like it better now than I did as school kid"
I thought the young lady who played Rusalka was kind of stunning looking. It turned out the handsome guy on the other side of the couple in my row was her boyfriend. He said she had been working hard into the nights for the past couple months on her Czech pronunciation.
I thought I sat in an interesting row.
