IMO audiences would've still seen them as Harry/Hermione. How long did it take Stewart and Pattinson to not be overshadowed by the Twilight movies?

Not that I disagree with your main point - the quest for IP crowds out the original scripts, and then the smaller number of original scripts remaining have to go around the same stars that have been in the business for 30+ years.
