If you can listen to synced radio announcers (as enabled on MLS Season Pass) you will find the TV announcers are less verbose on the play-by-play.

Still a bit much, and I do enjoy watching with just stadium sounds (as was enabled during college football playoffs).
I have heard you can sometimes get just ambient sounds by isolating certain speakers in surround systems, but I don't have a setup to test.
