we have no idea what is under out lower deck as it is tight to the ground. But they haven't done anything to our backyard other than eat weeds

they've lived under a couple sheds in our area and *knock wood* have never been damaging to anyone's yard that we have seen.
Last year was their expansion year I guess and moved under the deck. momma and 3 babies (they are very cute).
