Just build up a bunch of speed, furl the sails, and coast in.

The engine thing happened on a friend’s boat once. I had to jump out onto a seawall, and we walked the boat back to the dock. It was stressful.
Responses:
The nature of our moorage slip means there would only be one chance at that - and the wind was coming from nearly the worst direction.
