no real inside dope but the women in my writers group who are WGA are mildly optimistic that a deal can actually get done by the deadline

they're more 50/50 on it happening. unlike 2007, Teamsters have signaled they won't cross any WGA picket lines which actually would shut down all production even if there is stuff already in the pipeline to shoot. and other signals that holding out for a better DGA deal in a month isn't the sure thing it would have been in years past
