You should call ahead and see how they're doing that particular show as there's two ways they do shows out there -- (edited)

One is indeed inside and I'm guessing it could be considered packed but I dunno mebbe being packed is a more than acceptable trade off for being that close? I can't say as I've only ever done the second.
The second is that they set up a stage just outside the godforsaken BBQ place and then it is an under the stars few hundred people type affair and you can choose to be as packed in (right up against the stage) or with some personal space (in the back, towards the sides) as you want to be. I saw CHVRCHES on a Thursday that was Coachella Eve one year and would highly recommend.
Granted I'd made the two and half hour drive out to Indian Wells where I was staying for the Coachella weekend and then like a 20 minute drive back to Palm Springs to have dinner with the concert goers that drove me like the 40 minutes from PS to Pappy and Harriets so I didn't have to factor in a 3 hour drive post show.
