I wonder if the availability of so much content to stream means that audiences won't much care if there is no new stuff coming out?

And would that make things harder for the writers to get a good deal?
I'm not sure it hurts them as much as it hurts producers since they have diminishing returns on existing product.
The question becomes whether shareholders will tolerate reduced earnings for longer than writers can survive without paychecks.
Are producers obligated to pay residuals during a strike or do those get held until the strike is resolved?

There's a lot of trash to stream but quality content isn't sitting around waiting to be watched. People will get upset when their favorite shows

I don't know how long this will take to feel in streaming content. Many of us drop streaming services once we're caught up on certain shows.
