Join 2SLGBTQ+ community allies, activists, and organizations to show your support for Policy 713: Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity and the essential work of Pride in Education.
Policy 713, enacted in 2020, is a policy that sets out the bare minimum requirements for school districts to create a safer, welcoming learning environment for two spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, and queer students. This life-saving policy is now under review and under fire from hateful, queerphobic and transphobic rhetoric.
Further, Pride in Education, a non-profit comprised of New Brunswick educators that have worked tirelessly to create safer, more affirming schools for 2SLGBTQ+ youth, was recently denied funding by the Department of Education.
We - a group of individuals and organizations - wish to share our support for Policy 713 and Pride in Education. We ask you to join us to rally against this injustice and take a stand against hate, queerphobia, and transphobia.

HEALTH AND SAFETY
We ask all attendees to wear a mask for collective community safety. Masks, water, and sunscreen will be freely available.
FRIDAY SIGN-MAKING EVENT
There will be a sign-making event hosted by Fredericton Feminist Film Collective and Pride/Swell on Friday, May 12 between 3:00 - 4:30 pm at the Fredericton Public Library.
