I had one serious thought over the past day or two.

Non-serious thought: "Maybe I could carefully -- extraordinarily carefully -- gently burn it out from within the wall, like limit the interior exposure to just a gentle char."
And then the second, serious thought kicked in right behind that: "No one on ST would think that was even close to a good idea."
