In response to "they were probably making $250k a minute selling them retail once they actually signed Jordan -- nm" by hollywood big shot

I understand they subsequently became successful shoes. They made a movie about them.

But if one of the jobs of the film makers is to make the audience care about the premise and or characters, then spending an hour of the film getting the audience to understand what a huge leap it was at the time to spend their whole budget on one player, to then later on in the film suggest flippantly spending the same amount on fines. That to me is either a poor script or poor film making. Or probably both.
