But also... it looks like the event location decided to go with a different style of Juneteenth celebration.

They told the guy who organised the previous two events would not be doing it this year - he's described as a community activist and is related to BLM.
They decided to work with the organizer of the competing event who seems to generally have a bigger vision for the event - but also he's former military, and so the events are raising money for veterans causes, he says that Juneteenth wouldn't even have happened without half a million Americans dying in the Civil War, etc... so it's obviously a very different perspective on what Juneteenth is about.
