Given Putin's constant miscalculations, replacing Belarus's leadership with an even more pro-Russian leader is likely to lead to open revolution.

Belarus's leadership almost fell just months ago after an election debacle. If Putin believes he can just arbitrarily replace the already unpopular dictator with an even more unpopular dictator just so he can open another front against Ukraine, I fully expect that Russia will soon find itself fighting wars on multiple fronts.
