that was an addition that I particularly liked. the whole 'people are disappearing daily,' 'your mother doesn't leave the house most days.' bit was excellent. I might be taking the WWII analogy a bit too far, but in conjunction with the (albeit brief) angst about whether to send the kids back to Hogwarts, it captured the zeitgeist (god, I'm being a pretentious douche) of wartime london excellently.
