I listened to this great interview with schur once where he said that as a creator, he wished he could throw away the first ten episodes

of every series and just drop viewers into the world when it's fully formed. I think about that so much when I'm watching the "exposition period" of new shows.
it was growing pains. it was really funny from an episodic standpoint, but plotwise we evolved.
