There is a character named John Kelly who was in the Navy at some point.

There is a CIA employee whose last name is Greer.

There is a CIA employee whose name is Robert Ritter.

Someone kills a woman that Kelly has slept with. Kelly wants to get revenge on them.

Kelly travels to a foreign country and a mission doesn't go off as planned.

At least 2 Russian characters appear.

Kelly's death is faked and he takes the name John Clark.

At one point Kelly breathes from a scuba tank underwater.

That's it. This was a 768 page book.
