I'd love to know his these deals are structured.

It was my understanding that the actual NACS patents were released for use by others, so maybe Tesla is just looking to earn money off the charging, when drivers use Superchargers.

And having the NACS available on third party charging unit id a bonus for Tesla drivers. The access to Superchargers for all (almost) EV drivers is good for EV adoption in North America.
