I wish it was like the early days - a room in someone's house. It was a way to meet someone, feel safe, connect with the location.

I don't see an issue with that model. But those are 1 in 1000 now. Hosts have forgotten what bnb stands for, the experiences are crap, and they're now often more expensive than a decent hotel.
I'm all for heavy regulation. We had vacation rental houses before without it putting people out of homes.
