tmi: I can be such a moron about my own health.

I've been sick with an ill with an infection that I self-diagnosed about two weeks now. I kept thinking I would beat it. Finally, I hardly slept last night. I called in sick and then called the doctors office to ask for a test. I knew they wouldn't just prescribe an anti-biotic without a test.

I got a call back from the doctor's nurse. He wanted to see me in the early afternoon. I went in and the nurse took my sample. What I didn't know is they have a machine now that takes a test strip and gives them an analysis in about one minute.

So the doctor came in. I went to college with him so he doesn't bother with many formalities. He said "You know, you don't have to wait to see me if you're feeling bad". He then told me that I was right (which was great because the other two potential diagnoses were horrible).

He had already prescribed an anti-biotic. He gave me about one to two minutes of instruction on how to take the week long course of them. Then because I went to college with him, he spent the next twenty plus minutes of my office visit discussing his trip to Africa and things he'd seen on Netflix.

I took the first of 14 pills and then a four hour nap. I already feel tons better. Yeah, I should have gone in sooner.
