In response to "With the reddit blackout(s) people became unhappy with their Google search results. Apparently a large percentage of people relied on reddit" by Krusty

Guessing, but the answers to their searches might have been opinions rather than facts.

You can rely on google to tell you who is the president of Ukraine, or what is the GDP of China, or what time is the Spider-verse playing near me?

But for questions like "what are the best Beastie Boys songs?" or "what TV shows similar to Succession should I watch?", Google's best results are reddit threads where these questions are discussed.

It's less about the quality of the search engine and more about the quality of the data. Reddit is the best data source for these questions, and when the data is limited to Quora and clickbait lists, the results suck.
