(I'll just keep replying to myself) it is interesting that dude is saying to a chick "stay out drinking late at the bar see more of your friends

than you do of your kids" because when the original song was released, yes there were trainwreck mothers and single fathers, but it was like so abnormal. as the child of a single father whose mother stayed out drinking etc etc it's refreshing that the norm isn't perpetuated, but honestly somehow it still rings false in country music USA. it feels "coverish" not "lifeish."
