My thinking is that it is not very different from how ST does things, except for the public blocklist thing.

I made ST's blocklist private on purpose, because immediate knowledge of that action having been taken is itself fuel for the machinery of harassment.
This is also a consideration in why I haven't added private/direct messages to ST.
