Hey folks. Got into a disussion with someone who jokes about er parents making her sit for hours until she ate vegetables. -- (edited)

and it made me think.
I think there was a period of maybe 20? years during which parents did standoffs with kids, forcing them to choke down vegetables.
I experienced those standoffs a few times myself. These standoffs were part of the reason my sister developed anorexia, which was debilitating.
I think these standoffs have not happened in a very long time.
I'm not a parent, what do you guys think?
