and it made me think.
I think there was a period of maybe 20? years during which parents did standoffs with kids, forcing them to choke down vegetables.
I experienced those standoffs a few times myself. These standoffs were part of the reason my sister developed anorexia, which was debilitating.
I think these standoffs have not happened in a very long time.
I'm not a parent, what do you guys think?

Most of my childhood was that. Also don't have kids and aren't around many of them, so no idea if this is still a thing with some parents

my kid's picky, but I don't force her to eat anything. I make food available and she eats what she eats, but I don't cater to fickle whims.
