Depending on how long you are going the ferry ride to Ocracoke island is nice and there is a restaurant there named Jason's that used to have

the best shrimp. And there is a pier to watch the sunset at that is nice. And there are normally wild horses on the island but they try to keep them contained to large areas to keep them out of the roads.
