We sent her a care package through USPS...I put in her address and printed out the label at home.
I've been having some mental lapses lately (not getting dates right, etc) so I was skittish that I put in the address wrong.
The first time I put in her address at USPS, it said the address was bad.
I switched her room and the street address, and it was taken. So, the label is printed and the package is sent.
*The day that the package is picked up* I get a text saying that the package address was incorrect and was being held.
The text had the USPS logo on it. So of course, given recent stuff, I thought I had messed it up.
I copied the address from the link in the text and said, wait a minute, it's usps.xxxx.lnk
So I got suspicious, and logged onto the USPS site. It just so happened at that moment that their package tracking was down.
I end up getting flustered and go back to the link in the text and click through. The page said that there was a small re-delivery fee (sorta made sense) and that I should enter my credit card again. Stupid, but like I said, flustered.
The next day I get the call from the credit card company saying the card was compromised.
I was mad at myself that I was suspicious but fell for it anyway.
But the *weird* think is...this wouldn't have worked out if I hadn't sent the package *that day*
