If they have the pieces to make the deal they probably make the most sense.

Adding him probably makes them annual division contenders. Strong historical (and lesser current) ties to Japan. West coast, which is probably preferable (but not a dealbreaker) if he goes back to Japan much. I'm assuming they can afford a contract he would agree to.
