It's the only way I've ever had it or made it. I coat the whole pan in butter, likely using too much but I love it.

After I put the sandwich in the pan I push it around the pan to get all that melted butter on it. I also put another large pat on the pan as I flip the grilled cheese.

When you butter the bread before grilling is the butter cold or do you let it get to room temperature?
