Brother's flood report -

Yep. We had about 200mm of rain in 24hrs (Some places 280mm). Thunder and lightening was constant for about 12 hrs. We've just finished cleaning about 2.5 yards of gravel off the driveway that washed down from the hill behind us. We're lucky though. They're still looking for 4 people that got washed away in Halifax. Most roads from Bridgewater to Halifax are closed so getting there is a detour nightmare. The Bridgewater reservoir is stressed so they're having to drain it into Fancy Lake, which means evacuating water front properties. The Tantallon/Bedford areas are just recovering from the fires so there was nothing to slow down the water. A real mess!
And through all that, we're one of the few places that didn't lose power.
