They're phrasing it in an unapproachable way, but I'm not entirely convinced that they're wrong.

What they've identified as "fancy algorithms" aren't AI, but also aren't altogether different from some of the fears around AI. I'd argue that what they're brushing up against is actually just the tendrils of late-stage capitalism, which will be followed by a catastrophic collapse. I don't think there's much that can be done about it.
