Poker peeps --- etiquette question from last night (and more!)

So I got to the table late, just before the hour-long grace period.

WE are down to 2 tables and there's roughly 90k chips in play between the 2 tables (15 people left).

At my table, there's 3 older players involved in a hand. Old man, his wife, and then another woman. The wife has a small stack, the 2 others have similar sized stacks. (~7k, with wife having ~2k)

Hand gets dealt out, betting happens and the pot is about 5500 chips. The river comes and there's 4 to a flush on the board. Wife goes all in for 200 or so, old lady calls...husband goes all-in. Doesn't announce a number.

Action back to the old lady who asks, "How much?" Simple easy question, right? Man doesn't bother counting "All in" -- it stays that way for 2 minutes while the lady starts counting out. I eyeball and just say, "Whoever loses will have 2-300 left."

She again asks...he doesn't do anything except, "She calling?" She gets pissed, and yes, calls.

I then reach over and count out the damn chips like he refused. Old lady has him covered by 225.

He turns over the nut flush. She has 2nd flush. Wife has 2 pair.

He collects about 17k chips or roughly 1/5th of the entire tournament stack. And then because his wife is out, he turns in the entire stack and leaves.

---

On an asshole scale from poker etiquette, how high does this rank in its entirety?

* Not actually doing the count multiple times
* Inducing a call knowing you're leaving because you have the nut hand and you're going to eliminate your wife?

---
Of course, the old lady gets huffy and turns in her 225 chips as well.

Last hand before break, we lost 3 players, the other table lost 2 and we're at final table bubble. A guy at the other table had after our dick turned in, 50k out of 75k total chips in play with 10 players left to go.
