the town in which penn state is (state college) is VERY liberal. the immediate surroundings are very red, but it's not really politics.

gun to my head, I think that
-- new pres thinks that alum don belisario might endow the collegian
-- the collegian honestly should be selling ads to offset their costs. they haven't because they haven't had to.
-- the collegian is honestly terrible. the writing is shit. it used to win awards but now not even students value their reporting. there's no investigative journalism, no reporting on issues. it's mostly sports (so again maybe athletics should kick some cash over).
-- very few college newspapers pay staffers; often newspaper is a credit class. why is the collegian paying staffers?
-- I hate the font the collegian uses. if this budget cut makes it switch, fucking hooray.

-- the new pres is terrible, a tyrant. this sudden cut of 100% of funding is not unexpected from her.
