I guess it depends on whether she had any funds apart from the $20k. But I can't see less than $50k giving someone

enough cushion to get housing and a job sorted out before it ran out. It could maybe be done in some areas for $35k to $40k figuring a lot of people make ends meet (barely) on that annual income.
But I'd never snitch for "barely get by money".
