Okay, how about some boat talk? There are two boats. Same builder, same length, different years, different prices. -- (edited)

The older one is noticeably more expensive than the newer one.

Presumably this is because it is in slightly better condition & has been converted to solar-electric, and the sellers feel that this is a premium.

The newer one is not only newer, but over a decade newer. And being a decade newer, that means it had a different build process that means the keel will be less problematic (the "catalina smile" is an affliction of these boats from 1985 and before, but the newer one is a 1988 build).

Also, the newer one is located at a marina that is farther north than the older one. Probably around the same annual cost, but closer to some really neat destinations like Salt Spring Island, Sidney Spit, and Pender Island.

The older one is named Windigo, a 1977 Catalina 30. I've linked it recently.

The newer one is named Blue Pearl, a 1988 Catalina C30. (link below)

Neither one has what I really want, which is a nav table with a nice seat to use as a workstation.
